Tester FAQ

Testing questions, answered.

Everything you might wonder about before, during, and after the test. Still stuck? Email support@capitalfleettracker.com and we'll get back to you within one business day.

Why can't I find the app by searching the Play Store?

Apps in testing aren't publicly searchable. Google only shows them to people who've opted in through a private tester link. Use the opt-in and install links we email you — searching the store won't turn it up until we launch publicly. The install guide walks through it with screenshots.

Will I be charged anything to test?

No. Testing is completely free — no payment, no card on file, no subscription during the test. The app is also free to use during our launch period after the test ends.

How much time does it take?

A few minutes at a time. We ask you to keep the app installed for the full 14 days and open it a handful of times across those two weeks. There's no fixed task list and no minimum number of hours — just poke around naturally and tell us what feels off.

I signed up to test more than one app. Do I get one invite or several?

Several. Each app is its own separate test on Google Play and TestFlight, so you get a separate invite for each app and have to opt in to each one individually. If you signed up for three apps, expect three different invite links and accept each one. Joining one app doesn't automatically add you to the others. If an invite for one of your apps hasn't arrived yet, it's likely just on a different timeline — the others are still coming.

Do I have to keep the app installed the whole time?

Yes, please. Google measures the test by how many people stay opted in across the full window. If testers drop out early, the clock can reset for everyone — so keeping it installed for the two weeks is the single most helpful thing you can do.

What information do you collect about me?

To set up the test we use the email tied to your Google account (Android) or your Apple ID (iPhone), only to add you to the test and send your install link. Inside the app we collect the account and vehicle data you enter. We don't sell tester data. See our Privacy Policy and Data Usage page for details.

What happens after the test ends?

When the 14-day test passes, we submit the app for public release on the store. You can keep using the account you created during testing — the same login works on the app and the website, and it's free during our launch period.

Can I test on an iPhone?

Yes. iPhone testing runs through Apple's TestFlight app. Leave your Apple ID email and we'll send a TestFlight invite. See the iPhone tester guide for exactly how it works.

How do I leave the test or opt out?

You can leave any time. On Android, open the tester opt-in link again and choose to leave the program, then uninstall the app. On iPhone, delete the build from TestFlight. There's nothing to cancel and no charge either way — though we hope you'll stay for the full two weeks.

Who do I contact if something goes wrong?

Email support@capitalfleettracker.com or use the feedback form. We read every message and usually reply within one business day. For Android-specific snags, the help page covers the common fixes.
